Canon offers a large selection of scanners designed for different office enviroments. There are at least 19 available scanners, but in this post we’ll only be covering 5 different models.

P-215 II
It is a portable scanner that weighs about 2lbs and is about 11” long by 4” wide, So it would be great to travel with. It can scan documents up to 8.5” wide by 14” long. On Long Document Mode, you scan a document up to 39.4” long.
When scanning one sided, it can scan up to 15 B&W Pages and 10 Color Pages. When scanning 2-sided, it can scan 30 B&W pages and 20 Color Color pages.
This portable scanner is rated to handle up to 500 scans a day with the highest resolution of 600 dpi. The paper feeder can hold up to 20 sheets. The scanner also comes with a slot to scan Plastic ID’s as well.
DR-M260
The DR-M260, which is a step up from the DR-C225. It is a color scanner that holds up to 80 sheets at time and can scan up 60 pages per minute single sided or 120 pages double sided. This scanner can scan both sides of a sheet in a single pass.
It can scan documents up to 8.5” wide by 14” long and on Long Document Mode, you scan a document up 8.5” wide by 220” long.
This scanner is rated to handle up to 7500 scans a day with the highest resolution of 600 dpi. It is capable of scanning a variety of documents such as receipts, business cards, Plastic ID’s, Passports, or maps up to 220” long.
The DR-M260 is a great mid-duty scanner for most offices.
DR-G2140
Last on the list is the DR-G2140, which is considered a production level scanner. It is a color scanner that can scan up to 500 sheets at a time and will scan 140 sheets a minute either single or double sided. It is designed for a very high amount of monthly volume of 70,000 scans with the highest resolution being 600 dpi.
It can scan documents up to 12” wide by 17” long. On Long Document Mode, you scan a document up to 220” long.
Lastly, it is capable of scanning receipts, business cards, Plastic IDs and Passports.
DR-C225
The DR-C225 is a bigger scanner than the P-215 and is designed to be a stationary scanner rather than a portable one. It is a color, 25 pages-per-minute scanner that can scan single or double sided in a single pass. The scanner can hold up to 30 sheets of 20lb paper at time.
This model comes in two versions, The DR-C225W comes with Wifi, so that scans can be shared with phones, tablets, or multiple computer users at one time.
Normally, this scanner can scan documents up to 8.5” wide and 14” inches long, but it has 2 special modes that allow you to scan larger documents.
In the long document mode, the max size you can scan is 8.5” by 118.1” long.In Folio mode, you scan documents up to 11” wide by 17” long. To use folio mode, all you have to do is fold you document in half, scan it, and then the software will stitch the document back together on your computer.
This scanner also comes with a great feature called Top Feed and Eject, where the outputs can either be placed on the table underneath the scanner or ejected up top next to the original stack.
This scanner can handle a wide variety of media including receipts, business cards, and plastic ID’s.
DR-6030C
This scanner falls into the heavy duty range, being able to scan
documents up to 11.8” wide x 17” long. On Long Document Mode, you scan a document up to 118” long.
It can scan single or double-sided up to 80 sheets a minute.
This scanner is rated to handle up to 10,000 scans a day with the highest resolution of 600 dpi. The paper feeder can hold up to 100 sheets of paper and is capable of scanning receipts and Plastic ID’s.
All of these scanners can be connected to your devices in multiple ways such as TWAIN drivers, which can ease integration with third-party capture or content management systems. The scanners can also be connected using Canon’s Scanner software called “Capture On Touch”, which is extremely easy to use and will allow you to scan to multiple locations such as your desktop, email, or cloud database.
